Setting up a Tent with a Porch

AddThis Social Bookmark Button The Komodo is a fairly large tent. It's total floor are is 460cm x 300cm.

Hence choose a site that is fairly large and relatively flat to setup the tent.

Remove any sharp objects, such as stones or litter on the ground before setting up the tent.
We recommend that you have 2 people to setup this tent.

Step 1: Layout the Tent

Spread the tent on the floor.
Ensure the doors are closed to prevent the tent from being over-stretched.

 Slide in roofing poles

Step 2: Setup the roofing poles

Setup the poles for the roofing as shown in the diagram. Use the fiber glass poles. We recommend you insert Poles A first, followed by B and C.

*Refer to diagram below for labeling of poles

 Roofing Completed

Make sure the tent is hooked to pole B and pole C is correctly sleeved through.

Do not step onto the tent.

Teethed Poles for Fiber Glass Poles

Insert the fiber glass poles into the hubs, slotting the poles into the holes with the 'teeth'.

The holes without teeth are meant for metal poles.

Step 3: Erect the tent

Once the frame for the roof is fixed, attach the upright poles. Attach them by their pairs, with poles E first, followed by poles F (the ones with the metal hook) and the middle, poles D (the shorter poles). For all the poles, secure them to the hubs and keys at the base.

Peg tent and tie it down

Step 4: Attach the fly sheet

2 people should carry over the fly sheet by walking on either side of the tent. Once over, secure the flysheet to the frame (pole F's metal ring is designed for the flysheet to be hooked onto). Tie down the tent itself to the poles and velcro the fly sheet.
